<p class="break"><strong>Nintendo 3DS</strong> wird er offizielle Nachfolger vom DSi heißen. Der Name verrät bereits die Besonderheit des 3DS: Er wird sich dem derzeit sehr angesagten Thema 3D Entertainment widmen und somit Bilder in 3D darstellen können. Das überrascht dann doch ein wenig. Bislang war es bekanntlich einzig Sony die auf den bereits mächtig an Fahrt gewonnenen 3D Zug aufgesprungen sind bzw. diesen regelmäßig befeuern und mit ihrer PS3 Konsole den großen Coup in diesem Segment landen wollen. Von einer 3D PSP hörte man bislang allerdings nichts. Gut für Nintendo - bei der bekannten japanischen Spiele-Schmiede scheint man die Lücke erkannt zu haben. Auf der anderen Seite dürfte aber ein Projekt wie der 3DS schon seit längerem geplant sein. Zeit also für ein ausgiebigen Test-Bericht. Fangen wir mit der besten Nachricht an: Man muss nicht zwangsläufig darauf warten, dass der Nintendo DSi in Deutschland bzw. Europa sein Release feiert. Stört es einen nicht weiter mit der japanischen DSi Version zu spielen, kann bereits jetzt über asiatische Importhändler den DSi erwerben. Andernfalls muss man sich, zugegeben etwas vage ausgedrückt, bis Frühjahr 2009 gedulden. Was die japanische Version angeht, sei noch erwähnt, dass die deutschen DS-Module laut <a href="http://www.golem.de/0811/63595.html" title="Golem">Golem</a> problemlos gestartet werden können. Lediglich der alte Opera-Browser für den Nintendo DS und das aus der Homebrew-Szene bekannte Cyclo-DS-Modul verweigerte den Dienst. <p class="break">Wow, wer hätte das gedacht: Im Land des Lächelns verkauft sich der <a href="http://ds-spiele.net/plugin/tag/ds+lite">Nintendo DS Lite</a> mehr als doppelt so gut wie Nintendo Erfolgs-Konsole Wii. Ganze 57847 Nintendo DS Lite Geräte wechselten <a href="http://www.looki.de/" title="Looki.de">looki.de</a> zufolge den Benutzer; wohlgemerkt bezieht sich diese Zahl nur auf den letzten Monat. Unglaublich, vor allem wundert man sich, dass es die in Europa so erfolgreiche Nintendo Wii in Japan nur auf 26314 Einheiten im September brachte. Das sind nicht einmal 1000 Stück mehr als die PSP. Die Xbox 360 liegt mit 11291 verkauften Einheiten noch weiter hinten und Sony kommt lediglich mit der PS2 und 9848 Einheiten in die Top-Five. Von der PS3 ist weit und breit nichts zu sehen. Beim Anblick dieser Top-Five wundert es nicht, dass der Nintendo DS Nachfolger DSi zu allererst in Japan released wird. Die Japaner sind scheinbar noch handheld-versessener wie der Rest der Welt.</p>

</p><p class="break">Das erste, was einem ins Auge sticht, ist vermutlich die Größe des DS Lite. Der „normale“ Nintendo DS ist rund zwei Drittel größer als die Lite-Version. Der Name legt es schon nahe: Der DS Lite ist auch leichter, ganz genau kann ich es nicht sagen, aber der DS Lite wiegt schätzungsweise 80 Prozent soviel wie der DS. Ein weiteres Highlight (Achtung Wortspiel <img src="http://ds-spiele.net/templates/default/img/emoticons/wink.png" alt=";-)" style="display: inline; vertical-align: bottom;" class="emoticon" /> ist das helle und zudem sehr klare Display des Lite Bildschirms. Darüber hinaus kann man vier verschiedene Helligkeitsstufen einstellen. Ist das alles? Nein, noch nicht ganz, denn der DS Lite weiß zudem durch eine längere Akku-Laufzeit zu beeindrucken. Angeblich soll der DS Lite eine bis zu neun Stunden längere Spieldauer gewährleisten.
